Big Corporate Event during a Weekday in Santa Clara for 800 people (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Gilroy)

Black and White Affair can you do an event on a weekday? Not a problem. Can you do it at noon? We can do it. Did we mention it is for 800 people? Only 800 people will be attending in Santa Clara, we got you. That is how we do it. We were emailed recently about doing this event and we didn’t flinch. They wanted to make some announcements and play old school music. They made sure we had insurance and added them to our policy for their protection. They had 5 LLCs and we added them all. They also had invited some food trucks so it was a festive time.

We welcome corporate events when they call us. We take pride is quick and prompt responses since we too operate like a corporation. Time is of the essence. We show up in advance and create the vibe for the event. We make sure our music is appropriate and loud enough for everyone to hear but not to loud that it disrupts people conversation if its dinner time. We judge on when to go loud or if it needs to be background music.

The stage was small so we had the presenters be the main attraction as we spread out the speakers in front of the stage to cover more area. The dj set up behind the stage but can still see what was going on so they can read the crowd. We love events like this because the employer is showing appreciation to their employees.

Setting up a Big Corporate Event in San Jose (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Gilroy)

To throw a big corporate event there has to be collaboration. You have to have the main point person then you have to delegate responsibilities. I was able to work with a team from Lockeed Martin. We had constant communication and everything ran smooth.

They located a big venue downtown San Jose, the Guild House. Its huge and it is a creative space. There were tables so people can play board games and then different areas to play video games. Also for this event there was a photo booth.  Guild House had folks passing out delicious appetizers. Dinner was picked up by the side tables and they had choices of tamales and tostadas and chips and salsa/guacamole.

I gave them a playlist to cover many genres. We decided to move out the country songs and replace them with Christmas songs.  We were mostly playing 80s and 90s and 00s pop music. The first hour or so we went for background music and then later we got a little more aggressive with danceable music. We did get a little louder to get folks on the dance floor and it worked. It seemed like the Latin music is what got folks ready for the dance floor. 85 percent of the music was English but the Spanish music was got the ants in the pants.  For 600 folks we brought 2 -3 way speakers and 4 tops. It was more than enough for the space.

Overall it was a successful event with good food, a nice venue, and good people who made it a good time for all.

Sat Holiday Party in San Ramon and Monday Holiday Party in Cupertino (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, San Ramon, Cupertino and Mountain View)

We have done this holiday party for 3 years. Originally we did a party the party in San Jose which was a good time. Then the following year they wanted me to do it in Napa. It was a little far for me but since they really knew how to throw a party then I did that party too.  The pandemic hit and they have not had any holiday parties and then we signed up to do their holiday event in San Ramon. I can tell that this company is a good one to work for. The employees became game show players. They would give out oodles of prizes. It did remind me of Oprah when she says you win a prize and you win a prize. They would give out super nice prizes such as ipads and tvs. Once all the games are done then it was time for the dance floor to fill up. They liked a variety of all kinds of music and keep the festive vibe the whole night.

Two nights later we were playing in Cupertino for a holiday party for a hotel. We were all industry folks since we were doing the function on a Monday. Friday and Saturday are always parties for the regular folks but industry folks will have their events on an off night. But if you came to see the party then you would not have thought it was a Monday night. Industry folks really know how to let loose.

Holiday Corporate Party at Capital Club and Holiday Corporate Party at Double Tree in San Jose (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Mountain View)

In the bay, we do many holiday parties. In these parties they serve food then do some games then the dancing begins. This past Saturday we were in Capital Club. It’s a beautiful venue in the heart of downtown San Jose. It is a unique venue that stays on the 17th floor. One of the bonuses, once you need to take a break from dancing is to go to the balcony area to see the views outside. The corporate event was a nice event that provided a great playlist. They asked for the classic Christmas songs and a little bit of everything else. We like getting list like that so we can touch a little bit of everything like 70s, 80s, 90s and the 2000s. It’s a beautiful thing to have that wide array to choose from and you just have to read the crowd.

A few days later we were back at it again at the Double Tree Hotel. This event was a bigger event since the guest list was at 300 people. We made sure we brought our normal set up and the big boy speakers. We did have a little less guidance with the playlist. They wanted Christmas music then some the the popular dance music with some Spanish mixed in. Again it was another opportunity to read the crowd and give folks what they wanted. We were also open to take instant requests. Its all about making the folks happy at their events.

\

At this time, it is nearing the mark of quarter 4. Holiday parties could add or decrease the stress of the holiday season. For this reason, here are some holiday party ideas for work for the bay area.

Setting up a corporate party can seem like a second job and be dreadful if it is not organized. But a holiday party that is well organized can be bash for your staff can look forward to every year.

Set Up a Restorative Wellness Session

After putting in a hard year’s efforts, this is what the doctor ordered to recharge the batteries and end on a positive note.

Why not have a holistic yoga or meditation session to help alleviate the year long stress. If space is needed there are many spaces that can be rented. It would need to be indoors since it would be cold outside if you are doing yoga but then again if meditation is taking place then the Bay Area has plenty of outside spaces that are available. All you need is hiring a yogi to have a memorable relaxing event in the San Jose or Sunnyvale area if your company is not too big.

Why Not Have a Masquerade Ball?

A very fun event to throw is a masquerade ball that the whole company can partake in. These balls are black tie events that folks dress up nice but they keep their faces covered so no one knows who they are. This will be a company community building event.

To max out of this Masquerade Ball then a Bay Area Dj that fits the atmosphere of class that can create a playlist that fits the mood that can make the event to be epic.

Duh! Hit Up a Winery!

Napa is a few hours away but if you want to keep it local then go down to Morgan Hill or Gilroy. Someplace like Fortino Winery would be an excellent place to get some tasty wine and to have a great party. Your folks won’t be trapped by the company walls and can be truly free.

End the year with a Bash!

Nothing can be better than ending the year with an epic party. As the coordinator, you can select what kind of theme you want to have with your Bay Area dj running the atmosphere.

When doing a holiday event that requires a dj, do not just pick any Dj. The dj is the one who sets the mood for the night. Make sure you select a dj who will strive to make the night memorable. What type of events are your specialty? (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Fremont, Palo Alto, Concord, Hollister, Mountain View, Palo Alto, , Milpitas, Livermore, Pleasanton)

We do all sorts of events. We can do weddings properly in which we can also emcee. You want a dj who can do a grand entrance correctly and be able to work with a timeline. No timeline ever sticks with the exact time so the dj should be able to work with it and prioritize to cover all the events in the time allowed. A dj should meet with the bride and groom either in person or virtually to make sure they are on the same page one to two times at least to cover details. A wedding is serious business so details are the utmost importance.

School dances keeps us on our toes with the latest music. I love getting lists from students then putting it on the playlist. A lot of music comes out locally so it’s good to be up to date with that. Now with school events they are outside during the warm months so we make sure we have enough sound to cover more ground. But now schools are having events indoors in 2022.

Corporate events are so much fun. Folks can let loose on the dance floor. They are made of announcements and good dinner music and then the fun dance music at the end. Its ideal to have multiple wireless microphones for the event for the corporate hosts to handle and to be interactive.

Private events are ideal for us since we can collaborate to make custom playlist and our set up is really mobile so we can play anywhere.

3 Corporate events in 6 days (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Fremont)

I was all over the bay area for 3 holiday corporate events. Saturday we were doing a big internet company bash in Morgan hill. This is the 3rd event I have for the group. They gave me a lot of songs in their playlist of their liking. Mama mia served up a master meal. A few of the leaders spoke about achievements and talked about folks they wanted to hi light. We finished up the night on the dance floor.

The following day we were doing a corporate event in Fremont which was primarily Spanish music. This was the first corporate event where most of the music was Spanish. I started the event with a little xmas music then 15 min in when folks started showing up I then went with Spanish. I did throw in some old school classics in English. The boss was a young man and his assistant were running the events. They were running games for their employees for nice prizes. Later on they did a raffle and gave out prizes. The songs that got everyone grooving was cumbia and salsa.

Then on Thursday we had a real estate party. They know how to party and they did it on a weekday. It was at their office and they were very happy folks. It was supposed to be a 3 hour event but it was extended to an extra hour. It was all old school and r&b the whole night, No new music the past 5 years was played. There were no announcements and the theme was just to eat drink and be merry. All of them succeeded!
