Setting up a Big Corporate Event in San Jose (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Gilroy)

To throw a big corporate event there has to be collaboration. You have to have the main point person then you have to delegate responsibilities. I was able to work with a team from Lockeed Martin. We had constant communication and everything ran smooth.

They located a big venue downtown San Jose, the Guild House. Its huge and it is a creative space. There were tables so people can play board games and then different areas to play video games. Also for this event there was a photo booth.  Guild House had folks passing out delicious appetizers. Dinner was picked up by the side tables and they had choices of tamales and tostadas and chips and salsa/guacamole.

I gave them a playlist to cover many genres. We decided to move out the country songs and replace them with Christmas songs.  We were mostly playing 80s and 90s and 00s pop music. The first hour or so we went for background music and then later we got a little more aggressive with danceable music. We did get a little louder to get folks on the dance floor and it worked. It seemed like the Latin music is what got folks ready for the dance floor. 85 percent of the music was English but the Spanish music was got the ants in the pants.  For 600 folks we brought 2 -3 way speakers and 4 tops. It was more than enough for the space.

Overall it was a successful event with good food, a nice venue, and good people who made it a good time for all.

Birthday party at Loyal Studios (Los Angeles Dj serving Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena)

What is better than one birthday party is having two birthday girls celebrating at the same time. We had the party in the heart of Burbank. Loyal Studios was the location and they made a cool party scene. One cool thing about Los Angeles area is they have neat spots to have events. They are creative with their event spaces. I am used to big halls and lots of space but in this area they are creative to make a space as a fun party spot. They had different rooms to accommodate the party. One room where they served the pizza and cake. Another room where they ate and another room for photobooth. Then the coolest room had to be the room the dj was at. I am not just saying that but it truly was a cool spot. It was a green room where they film different things and they had a built in dance floor. The room was sound proof so there is no worry about the neighbors complaining about the loud noise. The teens loved Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo when it came out the speaker. Overall it was a good party and we went through there playlist and were able to stream songs that were not in our catalogue. We have not issues taking requests since the party goers got a bit more excited. It was definitely a pop party with a little hip hop. Its always refreshing when young folks get down to older music. One of the biggest hits was Gangnam Style and everyone was doing that dance and Macerena was also called upon.

Teen Party in the Highland Park Area in Los Angeles (Los Angeles Dj Serving Burbank, Glendale and Hollywood)

There is a cool spot to throw a party in Los Angeles. From the outside it looks like a car autoshop but when you get closer you see it is way different. The. front area is big enough to have 3 cars unload. We had a taco guy by the front and the photobooth guy was too my right. The client gave me a good playlist to work from. Everything ran smooth as possible. There was a lot of taco eating going on plus a lot of dancing going on to. The biggest artist for the young folks was Nicki Minaj.

Los Angeles is full of cool spots and the Hot Shot Muffler is a spot to have events. The staff is very helpful and they care. I was so impressed with them that I left them a review. I do like behind the wall behind. the. dj area is a place to lounge. They. have these little hoops so everyone can be a kid again.

High School Dance Dj taking over the  San Jose Area (San Jose dj serving Sunnyvale, San Jose, Milpitas, Los Gatos and Santa Clara)

This has to be the best homecoming season for us this year. We did proms for schools and they invited us back to do their homecoming.  We love really love doing high school dances. They give us songs that fuel the dance floor and what we do is we build off each list so the playlist is full of energy. We have 6 high school lists to work off when we step into prom season. Each school is different. Typically, someone from the school body will send us a playlist via Spotify or google doc. Then we add their songs to our playlist and we make sure we have clean versions.

Los Gatos told us not to worry about the lights. We just showed up with our sound and their light show was amazing. Our dj said it felt like he was doing a festival. Los Gatos did bring their energy.

Evergreen had an outside event and it was very festive. A lot of kids showed up and it was a huge party. Evergreen always comes to play hard!

The Kings Academy had their homecoming after their football game and we rocked it in the gym.

Independence had their homecoming in the middle of the school outside and they provided a playlist that bumped and the students loved the vibe.

Yerba Buena is happening  next  week and we always have a blast with them.

James Lick is having their homecoming this Saturday and the Saturday before Halloween is always a good time.

Thank you high schools for helping us providing the soundtrack of your memorable events!

Two Costa Mesa Mall Events (Los Angeles Dj serving Burbank, Glendale, Hollywood, and Costa Mesa)

Did two events in one mall this past Saturday. It is always exciting to play somewhere new and it is hard to prepare accurately since we have never played there. Are we going to play something old or new or do we do Spanish Music? I know in the Brea mall what to play but this Mall is not Brea. So what I did was play all kinds of music and a little bit of everything. Some folks play the same kind of music the whole time but I like to play everything to make as many folks as happy as possible. I  started with  some old school r&b then went to 80s  and 90s pop then went to  disco. We play as many songs as possible and rarely let the whole song play. The goal is to not have any dead air and to get the toes tapping when folks are shopping.

We played for 4 hours then took the set up like 40 feet and played for a fragrance company, Creed. They were having a celebration where they had some delicious appetizers and drinks. The playlist was pretty much pop music and playing instrumental covers of famous songs. Overall it was a fun day and when I was putting everything away the employees thanked me for the diverse music selection. I do love playing at Nordstrom’s since their employees are fun natured folks who provide good customer service and they provide their own do booth. Anyone who has their in house dj booth does not play! It’s a culture thing!

Latin Birthday Party In Morgan Hill (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Mountain View, Milpitas, Sunnyvale and Morgan Hill)

We did this Birthday party in Morgan Hill a few years back. I actually did it myself and it was tons of fun. They invited all these other food vendors so it was a yummy event. All the latin ladies were dancing while their husbands sat down and chatted with one another. They did call me the following year last minute and we were not able to book us since we were already booked and they went with another dj. Then they called us again last minute and I was planning to do a Bay Area wedding with my dj but had my dj do the Latin event in Morgan Hill. I wanted to make sure we took care of our repeat customer.

What better Saturday to celebrate your birthday than Beautiful summer night in the Bay Area! Spacious backyard, tacos, refreshment, and a dance floor! Lets not forget to toss the ipod out and get a great dj with all the hits you need! 80s fun and new wave, as well as some crossover latino hits kept the dance floor filled from beginning to end, with a small break to eat some delicious tacos! Hits that made people stick the the dance floor include Many hits from Timbiriche (si No es Ahora Accelerar, and Mexico) to just name a few, Hips Don’t Lie- Shakira, On the Floor-Pitbull and Jlo, Bamboleo by the Gypsy Kings, Dancing Queen by Abba, and  Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cindy Lauper!

San Jose Downtown Wedding (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill, Pleasanton, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Los Gatos and Gilroy)

Recently did a wedding downtown San Jose at a brewery. The brewery was in a different area and we had the whole outside to ourselves. We had a nice shiny dance floor where we held the ceremony. The ceremony was a tad bit behind schedule but we were able to catch up with all the events scheduled. The officiant had a nice ceremony and we learned more about the couple. After the ceremony we were supposed to do cocktail hour but since we were behind we jumped right into dinner without missing the beat. Sometimes you need to go with the flow.

The playlist had a lot of hits on it. The groom liked indie music so we played a lot of that. I was not familiar with his kind of music but I made sure I played it. We even went Bay Area music which was easy for me. I did like how we went all over the place to keep the guests on the dance floor.

Overall it was a fun intimate wedding. Guests were able to get their requests in and we played it then and there. We didn’t do the all typical wedding events. We did the toasts and the first dance plus father daughter dance and mother son dance. Sometimes we shorten the songs but they danced to the whole songs. Not all weddings are the same not they should be. All weddings shims be customized to each couple. We did not do a grand entrance since the couple was already at the venue.

Brea Mall Dj (Los Angeles Dj serving Burbank, Hollywood, Pasadena, Culver City, and Glendale)

We are living in a Barbie world at the moment. Seem like that movie is blowing up and they were having a Barbie theme at the Brea Mall. All the cosmetic section was sporting Barbie shirts. I have been at this mall a few times already and it was being a good time every time. Most djs could just come by and just start playing what they feel but for me I have to prep since I don’t want to play the same kind of music over and over. I want it to be different every time I play. I had the instruction to play fun positive music. Most folks who play at retail stores usually play a certain type of music and let it ride the whole time. That is not me and I want it to be as diverse as possible. There were at least 8 folks who came by to tell me they liked the diversity of the music. I talked to one worker who stated the dj before playing 90s  songs over a house beat. That could be fun but a little of the same. I try to find songs that everyone knows and play it in the original format as possible. We did play a lot of Spanish cumbias and did a lot of old school music. This time we did 90s alternative, freestyle, 90s house, 90s pop, cumbia, Spanish ranchera. I even threw in Barbie Girl since it was the theme. Most djs would be afraid to play that but I have no fear. It was a very fun vibe at the Brea mall.
