A Fun-Filled Night DJing in Gilroy: Music, Food & Good Vibes

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of DJing an unforgettable party in Gilroy. About five days before the event, I met with the family to go over my song selection. They shared their preferred tracks, which helped me create a custom playlist that truly reflected their taste.

The venue was located conveniently right off the freeway, making it easy for guests to find. It had a clean, spacious setup with plenty of parking and minimal neighbors—perfect for a lively party without noise complaints.

The host was incredibly welcoming and even invited me to eat. The food spread was impressive, featuring a taco guy serving fresh tacos alongside delicious Chinese food—a combo I didn’t know I needed but absolutely loved. For the kids, there was a jumper and a piñata, keeping them entertained all evening.

The vibe was nonstop fun. There was a generous bar pouring shots and beer all night long. We switched back and forth between English and Spanish music, keeping everyone on their feet. I kicked off the night with Bay Area hip-hop, transitioned into corridos, then moved to old-school funk, cumbias, and freestyle. Every genre hit just right, and the energy never dropped.

The party was originally planned until 8 PM, but everyone was having such a great time that we extended the music for another three hours, going strong from 3 to 11 PM.

Even though the venue owner had his own house sound system, we brought our own setup—and he was so impressed that he asked for our contact information for future events.

All in all, it was a night to remember in Gilroy—great people, great music, and great vibes!

This thoughtfully curated mix set the tone, blending classics and contemporary hits to keep the energy high all night. As the guests arrived, the music journey began with timeless old-school Spanish hits, creating an atmosphere filled with nostalgia and warmth. After the traditional birthday song, the party transitioned to current hip-hop tracks, bringing a modern vibe to the dance floor. Later in the evening, we brought it back to the roots with ranchera melodies that had everyone singing along. Double Teen Party in Fremont: Bay Area DJ for San Jose, Fremont, Morgan Hill, Sunnyvale, and Gilroy

Looking for the perfect DJ for your teen party or family event in the Bay Area? I recently had the opportunity to spin at a party for two teens in Fremont. Serving San Jose, Fremont, Morgan Hill, Sunnyvale, and Gilroy, I specialize in keeping the energy high with lots of current R&B, some pop hits, and even some of 90s R&B for that old school vibe.

The Event at Massimos Restaurant

The party took place at Massimos Restaurant, where the setup was cool and intimate with an open bar and a fun photobooth for guests to enjoy. The food was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. It was one of those events where everything just clicked.

One thing that stood out? How impressed the staff were with my efficient setup and breakdown process. While the DJ from the previous night needed 2 hours to set up and 2 hours to break down, I only needed 20 minutes to get the music going and the party started. I was done playing at 9:05 PM and out the door with my gear by 9:35 PM.

A Night of Music and Dancing

The vibe of the event was a mix of dining and dancing. While the teens enjoyed the modern hits, I also made sure the grown-ups could hit the dance floor with some R&B classics. It’s always fun to see everyone—from teens to adults—get up and move to the beat.

If you’re planning a party and need a Bay Area DJ who can cater to diverse crowds, play the best in R&B, pop, and throwbacks, and ensure a stress-free setup, I got you.

60th Birthday at Silicon Valley Capital Club in San Jose (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Palo Alto, Gilroy, Sunnyvale, and  Milpitas)

We had a party on the 17th floor in downtown San Jose. The Capitol Club is a scenic venue that can created bigger spaces if needed to hold functions. Love it that they validated my parking so I was able to save 12 dollars!

We had it up and ready with 45 minutes to spare. We were starting at 6 but it was like 630 when people started showing up. We had some few Spanish songs and 60s and 70s songs for the cocktail hour. They had open bar for the party.

At 730 they had a trio playing Mexican music. They sounded really good and their system was top notch. At the end of their set, they sang the Mananitas then sang Happy Birthday then went into La Bamba. Then it was my time to take over at 9:20. My goal was to keep everyone on the floor till 11. We were going with the Spanish songs from the list then I threw in some other cumbias. But what was the crowd favorite being the funk and disco. That is what got them. We finished the night with two sing alongs. Loved the fact that we were about to bounce around and jump into hip hop at the end then ended it when I love it that way by backstreet boys and Vicente Fernandez finished it off with volver volver.

Staff were awesome at Capitol club. They were very accommodating. They set me up with power and gave me a cart which is a life saver since we have to use elevators.

Latin Birthday Party In Morgan Hill (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Mountain View, Milpitas, Sunnyvale and Morgan Hill)

We did this Birthday party in Morgan Hill a few years back. I actually did it myself and it was tons of fun. They invited all these other food vendors so it was a yummy event. All the latin ladies were dancing while their husbands sat down and chatted with one another. They did call me the following year last minute and we were not able to book us since we were already booked and they went with another dj. Then they called us again last minute and I was planning to do a Bay Area wedding with my dj but had my dj do the Latin event in Morgan Hill. I wanted to make sure we took care of our repeat customer.

What better Saturday to celebrate your birthday than Beautiful summer night in the Bay Area! Spacious backyard, tacos, refreshment, and a dance floor! Lets not forget to toss the ipod out and get a great dj with all the hits you need! 80s fun and new wave, as well as some crossover latino hits kept the dance floor filled from beginning to end, with a small break to eat some delicious tacos! Hits that made people stick the the dance floor include Many hits from Timbiriche (si No es Ahora Accelerar, and Mexico) to just name a few, Hips Don’t Lie- Shakira, On the Floor-Pitbull and Jlo, Bamboleo by the Gypsy Kings, Dancing Queen by Abba, and  Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cindy Lauper!

Real Life Event: 60 year old Bday   Party in San Jose Club House (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Milpitas and Gilroy)

The San Jose Club House offered a perfect setting for the 60th birthday bash of the guest of honor. The party was dedicated to honoring the older generations with a night full of dancing, music, and entertainment from decades past. To help make sure everyone could be heard clearly, we put in place wireless mics so everyone could enjoy speeches without any technical issues. As for the background music, we made sure to include classic hits from the 70s and 80s to keep up with the theme of the party. It was an enjoyable evening spent amongst friends and family, and even better that it was on a Sunday! For something extra special, we also honored a request by the birthday boy himself: da butt by EU! Everyone had a great time celebrating this milestone day and it's safe to say that this event will be fondly remembered by all who attended.

Real Life Event: Burbank NYE/Bday Party (Los Angeles Dj serving Burbank, Santa Clarita, Reseda, Studio City, Glendale, and Pasadena)

They say it never rains in So Cal and the rain gods were letting us have it in California for all that doubt that we had. I was up North in the Bay Area and it was nonstop and it followed me when I went back to Burbank. New Years Eve night it was raining cats and dogs but the show must go on! Initially I was supposed to be playing outside but with the taco guy out there and the rain coming down there was not any room back there. So Inside I went. We had a little space to work with but with some help we repositioned the couch to make sure we had enough space for the speakers.

The party planner provided the playlist so I had to a lot to work with. It was a fun collection of 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2010s music. I did add some of the newest hip hop but I stuck with the classics for the night. I do a lot of school events but this party was for folks in their 30s so we went old school. I believe the most recent song I played had to be like 5 years old. I take pride is playing a little bit of everything to satisfy the folks thirst for hits.

When I got there they were playing 90s alternative music so I continued with that vibe. It is good to pay attention to details like that. Every event is different so it is good to prepare for each event to make it go smooth as possible.

California Latin Spanish Birthday Party: What is Needed? (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Livermore, Fremont, Milpitas, Mountain View, Santa Clara and Pleasanton)

First and foremost, you need a dj who is familiar with the classic Spanish jams and with the new music that is coming out. I tend to lean toward the classics but if given a heads up then I can add the new Spanish music that to the mix. I usually get a list from the client and add that to my proven hits to add to the playlist. I want to play as much as their list I can plus adding ones I know will bring excitement to the dance floor.

Usually for this Spanish Birthday events there is food involved. We tend to play some classic Spanish songs but save the dance Spanish songs for later for the dance floor. Some of these dinner songs can be some bachata or ranchera songs or maybe some Luis Miguel Love songs. Again, it all depends on what part of Latin America the guests are coming from. The Dinner portion of the night usually last for an hour. There may be a cocktail or appetizer portion of the night when the party starts before dinner kicks in. During cocktail/ appetizer hour the music can be more festive to get folks in the party mood. It would be ok to play dance music since folks are not sitting down having dinner. When it does become dinner time, it would be ideal to tame it a bit so folks aren’t moving too much in their seats when they are eating.
