Latin Birthday Party In Morgan Hill (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Mountain View, Milpitas, Sunnyvale and Morgan Hill)

We did this Birthday party in Morgan Hill a few years back. I actually did it myself and it was tons of fun. They invited all these other food vendors so it was a yummy event. All the latin ladies were dancing while their husbands sat down and chatted with one another. They did call me the following year last minute and we were not able to book us since we were already booked and they went with another dj. Then they called us again last minute and I was planning to do a Bay Area wedding with my dj but had my dj do the Latin event in Morgan Hill. I wanted to make sure we took care of our repeat customer.

What better Saturday to celebrate your birthday than Beautiful summer night in the Bay Area! Spacious backyard, tacos, refreshment, and a dance floor! Lets not forget to toss the ipod out and get a great dj with all the hits you need! 80s fun and new wave, as well as some crossover latino hits kept the dance floor filled from beginning to end, with a small break to eat some delicious tacos! Hits that made people stick the the dance floor include Many hits from Timbiriche (si No es Ahora Accelerar, and Mexico) to just name a few, Hips Don’t Lie- Shakira, On the Floor-Pitbull and Jlo, Bamboleo by the Gypsy Kings, Dancing Queen by Abba, and  Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cindy Lauper!

San Jose Downtown Wedding (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill, Pleasanton, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Los Gatos and Gilroy)

Recently did a wedding downtown San Jose at a brewery. The brewery was in a different area and we had the whole outside to ourselves. We had a nice shiny dance floor where we held the ceremony. The ceremony was a tad bit behind schedule but we were able to catch up with all the events scheduled. The officiant had a nice ceremony and we learned more about the couple. After the ceremony we were supposed to do cocktail hour but since we were behind we jumped right into dinner without missing the beat. Sometimes you need to go with the flow.

The playlist had a lot of hits on it. The groom liked indie music so we played a lot of that. I was not familiar with his kind of music but I made sure I played it. We even went Bay Area music which was easy for me. I did like how we went all over the place to keep the guests on the dance floor.

Overall it was a fun intimate wedding. Guests were able to get their requests in and we played it then and there. We didn’t do the all typical wedding events. We did the toasts and the first dance plus father daughter dance and mother son dance. Sometimes we shorten the songs but they danced to the whole songs. Not all weddings are the same not they should be. All weddings shims be customized to each couple. We did not do a grand entrance since the couple was already at the venue.

Cumbia Spanish Party in Morgan Hill (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Milpitas, and Hollister)

I was fortunate enough to do a party in the Bay Area recently and it was a good celebration. They just wanted party music. I was told just get Cumbia music and some old school. So I did set up the music but realized so what do they are going to listen to when they are eating. I was scheduled to play for five hours. Usually the first hour or so they will be eating then it is the dancing. I was told the party will be going on before hand and they will be eating before I start. This is my kind of party! More time for some dancing.  They had a speaker connected to a phone and they were playing like slow songs for dinner. I can tell it was not music the party planner selected but it was something the venue put together. And I was right since the phone belonged to someone at the venue. They were going to have a performance at 430 so I was asked to be already set up by that time so I would not be a distraction. I said no problem. I got there around 4 and I was set up by 417. It was an easy set up. The performers asked if I can connect to their phone. It was 430 and I wasn’t supposed to start till 5 but I happily obliged and connected the phone and made the microphone available. They had a Hawaiian performance and they had dancers from all ages get down. They had a few drummers but it was very lively.

From 5 to 10 we went straight cumbia. We probably did 80 percent cumbia for 5 hours and did some ranchera music. We did a little old school but it was Spanish that got everyone on the dance floor.

San Jose Prom Dj at Los Gatos High School (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, Los Gatos and Sunnyvale)

Los Gatos High School, Class of 2023, just knew how to do it right. Even while I was growing up, Los Gatos was known as an elite school in sports and now we know know that they know how to throw a party.  They were excellent with communication to make sure they got their party right.  We were in constant contact from two students from the ASB team that kept us in the loop.  Ending the year of right with an epic prom night at no other place , but the BNY Mellon Club located at the 50 yard line behind the 49ers sideline at the field level, that making it the most premium space at Levi’s stadium! We loved the fact that we were playing on sacred ground and playing where the  49ers run wild.  As soon as the doors opened, music starts playing. Every song back to back seemed liked a hit the way everybody reacted and sang along to hits like We Found Love by Rihanna, Fireball by Pitbull, Love Story by Taylor Swift, Losing it by Fisher, Feel so Close by Calvin Harris, Bel Merci by Jengi, Hey Baby by Pitbull. And the list was endless for such an epic night with endless dancing and very great taste in music. Lghs 23’ you were amazing! The energy on the dance floor could not be matched and it will always be remembered. Also the fact that they were celebrating in the presence of greatness of a football team just made it a little bit magical.

Silicon Valley Capital Club Venue Review (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Gilroy)

I was asked to be part of a 60th birthday part at Capital Club. It has to be one of the best views to have downtown at the spot. I made sure I made more time to get my gear ready since its on the 17th floor. Best bet is to unload everything in the loading zone and take it up the elevator. Then come back to your car and move it in the garage. One of the positives is that they validate your parking with no questions asked.

I was able to set up with 20 minutes to spare. We were playing a lot of 70s and 80s music. The guest of honor did not show up till 620. I was playing for the other guests while they waited. It was a surprise event so we all got quite when she arrived. The food we exquisite and the host took care of me and made sure I had a chance to eat.

At the end of the night, the hosts asked his family to help me put my gear away. He insisted that I take the help. It was very nice of him.

Over all it’s a good spot to have an event. The waiters are very helpful and did everything to accommodate me. I did have an issue with the coordinator. In all the years I have been in the business I had two times I have been disrespected by staff. The first time I was at a Night Spot called Willow Den where the owner asked if this backpack I was about to put away asked me if that was my backpack and then he kicked it and said put it away. I moved my backpack and played the rest of the night and he called me to do another event but I didn’t accept it. Even though the owner disrespect me I still did my job as I was supposed to. The second time I have not been treated nicely was by the coordinator at the Capital Club. I was wearing a dress shirt and black jeans and nice Jordans. Coordinator asked me if I had other shoes and I said I didn’t it and she mentioned a dress code. I told her I was unaware of it but I will follow it next time. About 10 minutes later she mentions it again in-front of the clients and the clients told me not to worry about it. Keep in mind the coordinator did not hire me, but she was thinking I was her employee as she shoved a few chairs and told me to move them. And of course since I had a job to do I did not put up a stink but did what I had to do. But she did make me feel uncomfortable with her tone of voice. I did get a glowing review from my client. I did reach out to management but did not get a response. So please if you do do book the Capital Club please do not ask for Julee Winterbourne. Everyone there is pleasant but Julee may disappoint you.

Real Events: San Martin Middle School Dance (Bay Area Dj Serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Gilroy)

We had a fun event at the middle school. I do love playing in the South County area since I love the energy. As I drove close to the school all these young players were getting ready to play their softball games. This area takes their sports serious so it just made me happy to see the youngsters playing a fun sport.

I pulled up by the cafeteria\ gym to unload my gear. It was so convenient since I was right by the door. Students were preparing for a play so I could not set up on the stage but I was plenty enough early to not stress about it. The students left the stage and I was able to set up with 20 minutes to spare. A few of the girls wanted to practice the Cupid Shuffle but after that I was playing all pop music before show time. As most Jr. high dances the girls were on one side and the boys were on one side. Everyone was pretty much dancing with their group of friends. I was following the playlist they gave me but students wanted specific songs so they would write them up on a notepad. (Lots of Spanish was requested) If I had it then I would play it and if I did not have it then I would make a note on the notepad. I did take a picture of the notes to see what I would bring next time. School dances are so fun for us to do please contact Black & White Affair to make your party epic.

Real Events: Hollister Weddings: (Bay area dj serving Hollister, Gilroy, Morgan Hill and San Jose)

We did a beautiful back yard wedding in Hollister which had a beatiful view of the country side. We were able to get pages of Country hits and we did mostly country the whole night with some classics thrown in the mix. During cocktail and dinner hour we did lots of country. The biggest requests had to be Morgan Wallet As the night progressed bellies full of food and glasses full of wine., Guest started getting eager for the dance portion of the night. After some emotional speeches, we let it whip with some top 40, classic funky  hits from 70s and 80s, Hits of the night included Too hot by Kool and the Gang ,Cupid shuffle by Cupid, September by Earth Wind and Fire and slow song of the night was  Waiting for a Girl like You by Foreigner. The night kept going and people danced for the last 2 hours that remained at the event non stop, up until the last minute that we had to go! Glad we could be part of such a beautiful night full of fun memories!

What made it magical was the bride and groom. They made the party happen with their energy and their ability to host a fun party.
