Jr. Prom Downtown San Jose (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Los Gatos, and Sunnyvale)

The beginning of the dance did involve food so we were playing dinner music as background music then once the eating was done it was time to celebrate the school year. These students were very polite and had a lot of energy. At certain points of the night, students wanted to take pictures with the dj since he was rocking the house. When I hear things like that, it just makes me smile.

I love how this school worked. They had a set schedule so we made sure we had multiple microphones. They were able to share their playlist via Spotify two weeks in advance to ensure we were able to provide a custom playlist and not do a generic high school playlist. They had a special song for the prom court. It is nice to see people getting recognition. And they did a good job to follow up right before the event to make sure we were on the same page. They did make our job easier. But if a school does not follow up then it is us that is doing the follow up. We do accept last minute changes because life does happen.

Sat Holiday Party in San Ramon and Monday Holiday Party in Cupertino (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, San Ramon, Cupertino and Mountain View)

We have done this holiday party for 3 years. Originally we did a party the party in San Jose which was a good time. Then the following year they wanted me to do it in Napa. It was a little far for me but since they really knew how to throw a party then I did that party too.  The pandemic hit and they have not had any holiday parties and then we signed up to do their holiday event in San Ramon. I can tell that this company is a good one to work for. The employees became game show players. They would give out oodles of prizes. It did remind me of Oprah when she says you win a prize and you win a prize. They would give out super nice prizes such as ipads and tvs. Once all the games are done then it was time for the dance floor to fill up. They liked a variety of all kinds of music and keep the festive vibe the whole night.

Two nights later we were playing in Cupertino for a holiday party for a hotel. We were all industry folks since we were doing the function on a Monday. Friday and Saturday are always parties for the regular folks but industry folks will have their events on an off night. But if you came to see the party then you would not have thought it was a Monday night. Industry folks really know how to let loose.

Holiday Corporate Party at Capital Club and Holiday Corporate Party at Double Tree in San Jose (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Mountain View)

In the bay, we do many holiday parties. In these parties they serve food then do some games then the dancing begins. This past Saturday we were in Capital Club. It’s a beautiful venue in the heart of downtown San Jose. It is a unique venue that stays on the 17th floor. One of the bonuses, once you need to take a break from dancing is to go to the balcony area to see the views outside. The corporate event was a nice event that provided a great playlist. They asked for the classic Christmas songs and a little bit of everything else. We like getting list like that so we can touch a little bit of everything like 70s, 80s, 90s and the 2000s. It’s a beautiful thing to have that wide array to choose from and you just have to read the crowd.

A few days later we were back at it again at the Double Tree Hotel. This event was a bigger event since the guest list was at 300 people. We made sure we brought our normal set up and the big boy speakers. We did have a little less guidance with the playlist. They wanted Christmas music then some the the popular dance music with some Spanish mixed in. Again it was another opportunity to read the crowd and give folks what they wanted. We were also open to take instant requests. Its all about making the folks happy at their events.

Fremont Xmas Corporate Event (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Fremont, Gilroy, Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Morgan Hill)

One of our favorite spots to eat is Chick Fila and this is the second time we did the company party. Last year it was Newark and this year it was in Fremont Mariott. So what happens at these events?

We did a gift wrapping game, musical chairs, dance, xmas bingo, raffles, more dancing and some speeches and then give out company swag. These games you try to get as many people involved. We always connect a few microphones so you can have multiple hosts and you have the music ready to go with the flip of a switch. These xmas events are all about celebrating the hard work that goes through the long year and it gives the employees something to look forward to. Corporate events are a good way to build company culture and make employees happy. I can tell that management truly appreciates their employees and truly want to celebrate them. We do like doing parties for other folks in the industry since they are done on the off days. The store is closed on Sundays so there is no excuse to not to go.

I do like setting up for the same company events since you know what they like already and it makes it easy to set up their playlist. Last year we incorporated a lot of Spanish hits and this year we made sure they were lined up with some hot Spanish tracks. Its not all Spanish tracks but you always got to have a little of Christmas songs handy but not all xmas events call for Christmas songs. Some people just want to have party songs which is fine for us.

No Dance Wedding: No Problem (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill and Gilroy) (Los Angeles Dj serving Burbank, Glendale and Universal City)

No two weddings are ever the same. Each wedding we do is costumed for the couple. When planning my latest wedding then we found out the wedding was a non dance wedding. I have never done one before but I was willing to take it on. As a dj you are trained to build a dance floor and keep on building it with the progression of playing good dance music. But then again every wedding is a custom wedding and I wanted to be a part of it.

Typically, when you work on a wedding you have 2 to 3 hours of open dancing. But when you are not having dancing at all period you have to schedule other activities. I was in charge of finding out some fun games for the wedding. I did share some ideas with the couple and they opted to do family feud and some music trivia. So I went to find some really good family feud questions and saw some episodes to remind me how the game went and went over the rules. As for the game trivia I looked at the top hits for a certain decade and also got come classic TV show theme songs. It would bring back the good ole days.

I was prepared for the game activities. During the actual wedding, the couple spent a lot of time in the photo booth. We ended up doing the bouquet toss. We did have a sparkler exit. There were two lines of guests with sparklers and the couple walks down. It wasn’t too dark yet but it still looked nice.

Stanford Prom: Coyote Creek as a Venue (Bay Area dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill, Stanford, Palo Alto and Gilroy)

High School proms are fun. There is excitement in the air. But if an university is having a prom then it will be the most fun party around. We set up a prom in Morgan Hill from a highly established university. Actually probably in the top 3 in the Bay Area hands down. They came down from the peninsula and were in the party mood.

I was able to see it first hand. The energy was in the air. I came in from the parking lot and I could feel the pulsating music. Coyote Creek is a venue that can hold huge functions. It has a huge parking lot so there is plenty of parking. They keep a bright light on so its safe in the lot. It has a big open area so you can easily fit 500 to a 1000 party goeers. They had plenty of tables and chairs for everyone. When I first talked with them they wanted to have two djs and this place could easily have accommodated it. But at the end they kept one. For folks who do rent out this facility please make sure you have plenty of sound. You can do well with two top speakers and 2 subs or maybe 4 tops. This had to be one of the biggest parties we did this year due to the energy of the crowd and how big the place was. People were ready to party and they had to be fed the jams.  It was an epic event. My favorite part was with folks really felt it then would dance on stage while facing the crowd.

Plan a Silent  Disco in the Los Angeles Area : Los Angeles Dj Serving Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena (Bay Area Dj Serving San Jose, Santa Clara and Gilroy

Plan a Silent Disco Los Angeles Partygoers Will Enjoy

Hosting a party in Los Angeles is challenging. Not because there's a shortage of partygoers looking to let off steam on a Friday night, but because of the city's stringent noise ordinances.

Silent discos help you circumvent these strict rules that limit "noisy" hours to between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Now, you can host a party at any of Los Angeles' premium venues by planning a silent party Los Angeles night owls will enjoy.

Benefits of Hosting a Silent Party in the Los Angeles Area

Los Angeles isn't the only city where silent parties are overtaking event planning. They've become a go-to in most major cities because they're so beneficial and convenient.

1. Get Access to Preferred Venues

Because of LA's stringent noise ordinances, most venues and spaces choose not to rent to promoters, event planners, or individuals who intend to use the space to host a disco. This often means you'll have to find the most out-of-the-way locations when planning a party in Los Angeles. You can solve that issue with a silent party. You can get access to

2. Save on Costs

Besides ensuring you avoid the $500 fine for noise complaints or being promptly shut down at 9 p.m., you also don't have to

3. Attract More Attendees

You may not realize it, but the average silent party attendee may not be your typical nightlife prowler. Silent parties allow you to tap into a new demographic when planning a disco or get more of your friends to RSVP if you're hosting a party. That's because silent parties help attendees control the level of social interaction they feel comfortable having. Some don't enjoy parties because of anxieties when striking up a conversation.

4 Steps to Plan a Silent Disco Los Angeles Partygoers Enjoy

If you're convinced your next event should be a silent disco, this is what you need to do to get that going.

Find a Venue Suitable for a Silent Party

Space matters. If you haven't attended a silent party before, you may not know that attendees love to dance. Unlike your typical nightclub, where socializing and being seen is the purpose of the event, letting loose is the reason most attendees go to silent discos.

Try to allocate two to four feet of space to each attendee and use that as a gauge when hiring a venue.

Hire a Silent Party DJ

Throwing a silent party Los Angeles partygoers will enjoy is contingent on the DJ you're hiring. Like any dance or disco party, the DJ is the sole entertainment, and his mix matters. You want a DJ who can play to the crowd and read cues even though the party is silent.

You still want your silent disco partygoers to have a blast. If your budget allows, you could consider getting two or three DJs.

Rent Headsets from Reputable Rental Companies

The most important silent disco rental is the headsets. Your silent disco headsets should be noise canceling but also allow users to connect and maintain the connection at a distance. Sound quality is critical.

The headsets should suit the sound of the DJ and their mix, with crisp audio that adds to the experience.

Set Ground Rules for Attendees

If you're looking forward to avoiding the $500 in fines you can receive from going 5 decibels above the ambient noise, you need to relay a set of rules for your silent disco. The primary one should be silence. Talking is fine. But singing along at the top of your lungs should be avoided.

Plan a Halloween Party: Guide on How and When to Book a Halloween DJ ( Los Angeles Dj serving Burbank, Glendale, Universal City) (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, and Gilroy)

So you're thinking of throwing a Halloween party this year? That's an excellent idea because, in all honesty, adults don't have enough reasons to party.

How to Book a Halloween DJ in September

If you're hosting an event in October, September is already considered late by most party planning standards. But, it's also when most Halloween party planning occurs. So, you'll have to have a strategy to guarantee you're getting the best entertainment.

Ask Friends and Colleagues for Recommendations

You can start your search for a Halloween DJ by approaching friends and colleagues for recommendations. A few names and numbers should help you launch your search for a Halloween DJ. But you should also get a portfolio from their website or social media before you move to hire them for the event.

Stalk DJs' Instagram Accounts

You'd be amazed at how many good LA DJs you can find with an Instagram search.

Most DJs will promote their sets, pricing, and availability on Instagram, so it's easy to ascertain if your DJ will meet your requirements for the gig. You can also quickly ascertain if they're available through a quick DM.

Consider an Out of Town DJ

You may be able to get a DJ with availability on the weekend before or the day of Halloween if you consider an out-of-town DJ.

If you can't get an out-of-town DJ, you can try to get a new-to-town DJ, who has the experience, and you can save yourself a lot of headaches.

The Two Reasons You Should Book Your Halloween DJ NOW

If you leave booking your DJ to the eleventh hour, you're guaranteeing you'd get the worst DJ, or your DJ is a no-show. There are rare instances where a DJ comes through both with their physical presence and their playlist, and there are two reasons for that:

October is One of the Busiest Months for Event DJs

October is one of the busiest months for DJs. During the month, there are hundreds of corporate or personal events on any given day, with the DJ being the only source of entertainment. Most DJs will be working every day of the week, whether that's planning the playlists or playing at an event. On busy days, a DJ may — in some instances —have two gigs, one in the afternoon and another in the evening, and one starting later in the night.

Weddings Have Taken all the Venues and Saturdays

Summer and Spring weddings are taking a backseat to fall weddings, especially in Los Angeles. The heat is unbearable in summer, so a fall wedding has the benefit of cooler weather and gorgeous autumnal foliage.

If you don't want to be competing with brides and event planners, get in contact with a DJ ASAP.

Rather than be disappointed by the selection of DJs because you only booked your Halloween DJ in October, opt to book by the beginning of September and have a few backup choices in case your first choice doesn't follow through.

If you're searching for a Halloween DJ, why not reach out to my team? As a DJ new to Los Angeles, the San Diego Bay Area, and San Jose, I have a wealth of experience, which can help transform the event from another costume party into a night to remember.
