A Heartwarming Corporate Event at Hayes Mansion in San Jose
This year’s annual corporate holiday event at the historic Hayes Mansion in San Jose was another memorable celebration—and our third year hosting this gathering. After spending the previous two years at the Capitol Club, returning to a new venue brought a refreshing change of scenery. Hayes Mansion, known for its stunning architecture and spacious grounds, proved to be the perfect setting.
The property was bustling that day, with multiple events happening simultaneously. While a larger event occupied the main ballroom, our group enjoyed a more intimate setting on the opposite side of the property. Parking was plentiful, making arrivals easy and stress-free for our team.
We were assigned a comfortable mid-sized room equipped with six well-spaced tables, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for our under-30-guest crowd. As always, our boss—who has truly perfected the role of host—kicked off the evening with his signature monologue. Equal parts humorous and heartfelt, his opening set the tone for the night. A particularly touching moment came when he read letters submitted by staff, sharing their favorite Christmas memories and what they’re most thankful for this year. It’s a simple tradition, but one that always brings warmth and connection to the event.
The energy shifted as we dove into the always-anticipated white elephant gift exchange. Complete with drumrolls and perfectly timed Jeopardy-style sound effects, the game became a lively highlight filled with laughter and good-natured competition.
To wrap up the evening, the final hour transformed into a cozy dance party. With upbeat music playing for our small group, guests mingled, danced, and enjoyed the festive spirit.
Overall, this year’s corporate event at Hayes Mansion delivered a perfect mix of fun, tradition, and holiday cheer—an experience we’re already looking forward to repeating.
