The Benefits of Having a DJ for Your Event (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Mountain View) (Los Angeles Dj serving Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena) (San Diego DJ)

Blog Introduction: There is nothing quite like the atmosphere created when you have a live DJ spinning at your event. From weddings to birthdays, there are many advantages to having a professional DJ instead of simply relying on an iPod or other form of prerecorded music. Let’s take a look at why having a professional DJ is better than using an iPod.

The Music Selection Will Be Tailored to Your Needs

When you hire a DJ for your event, the music selections will be tailored to your needs and preferences. If you want classic rock, rap, country, or something else entirely, your DJ can provide it. By contrast, if you use an iPod playlist, then what you get is whatever was preselected and stored in the device. That means no personalization or customization whatsoever.

You Can Trust Your DJ to Keep Things Moving

A professional DJ knows how to read the room and adjust their music selection accordingly. They also know how to keep things going by playing crowd-pleasing songs that people love dancing to. When it comes to creating energy and keeping people engaged, nothing beats having a live person behind the turntables and/or microphone! An iPod cannot do this — it will just play whatever is programmed into it without any sort of improvisation or expertise involved.

Your Guests Get Something Special

At its core, having a live DJ at your event adds something extra special for your guests that they won't get with an iPod playlist. They will get the chance to experience something unique and memorable that will stay with them long after the event has ended — this is especially true if your chosen DJ has unique skills such as beat matching or scratching vinyl records! This can help make your event even more enjoyable for everyone who attends.

A professional DJ can add something special and unique to any type of occasion–from weddings to birthdays–that you simply don’t get when using an ipod-playing prerecorded music instead. From tailored music selections that match your needs and preferences perfectly, to being able trust your dj expertly read the room and keep things moving with crowd-pleasing tunes – having a Dj really does make all the difference in creating an amazing atmosphere! Whether you choose someone who specializes in beatmaking or scratch mixing vinyl records – no matter what – you can rest assured that your guests will be sure leave with lasting memories from the amazing time they had!  So if you are in the Bay Area, La area or San Diego, hit up Black and White Affair.

Why Every DJ Should Know How to Make Dj Edits! (Bay Area Dj serving San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Livermore, Fremont, Milpitas, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and Pleasanton)

As a dj, most of the time we develop an ego. We the best! Well we tend to think like that until you see a turntablist cut and scratch then our ego maybe bruised (a little). Often times djs don’t want to try something new since they will not be good at it. They tend to stay in what they are comfortable with. But at times, djs will step it up and get into music production.

Why would you get into music production when someone else can do it and you can just download the track? It’s all about customization. Maybe you want a short edit of a song or maybe you just want the intro of the song then the hook then the 3rd verse. It all can be done by you. It can also be a selling point that you can do custom edits for first dances or cheerleader routines. It’s a desirable skill.

There is something called the Frankenstein edit. I think it was created by a record pool but I’m not 100 percent on that. But it’s when you combine 2 or more of the same song (remixes) that have different drops or breaks. You can put in breaks that you like from the different edits and make it into one seamless track.

Once you finish a track, then you have a sense of accomplishment. It feels good just to play your track at events. Recently I did a redrum of a pop song and someone came up to compliment it and she was amazed that I told her I did it myself.

And if you create your own custom edits and don’t share them then you are unique since no one else has the tracks that you edited. You can create your own mash up or blend.
