ROTC Event at the Scottish Rite Center in San Jose: A Fun, Family-Focused Night of Music and Dancing
This weekend I had the chance to return to the Scottish Rite Center in San Jose for the ROTC event—and honestly, it felt great to be invited back for the second year in a row. When an organization specifically asks for the same DJ, you know the connection was real. This crowd, made up of high school cadets and their families, brings an energy that makes the whole night feel like a big community celebration.
The Scottish Rite Center is a perfect venue for this kind of event. It’s spacious, welcoming, and gives everyone room to have a good time—from parents enjoying the evening to students ready to dance the second the music starts. As soon as I fired up the first tracks, you could feel the excitement build. You’ve got teens showing off their moves, families smiling and recording videos, and younger siblings jumping right into the fun.
One of the highlights of the night was definitely the line dancing. There’s something special about seeing different generations on the dancefloor doing the same steps and laughing together. And of course—we have to talk about the conga line. You simply can’t beat a solid conga moment. Once the line formed, it snaked around the room with everyone joining in, from grandparents to cadets. That’s when you know the vibe is right.
Events like this remind me why I love what I do. Music brings people together, and when a night blends family fun, school pride, and a packed dancefloor, it’s always worth the planning. I’m already looking forward to next year’s ROTC celebration at the Scottish Rite Center in San Jose.
