We recently had the opportunity to DJ a high-energy corporate party in Palo Alto for the awesome team at Sciton, and it was nothing short of amazing! As a Bay Area DJ serving San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Mountain View, we love events where we get to bring the energy and keep the crowd engaged—and this event definitely delivered.

With around 400 guests in attendance, the company went all out. From interactive games and raffle tickets to a full-on 3-on-3 basketball tournament, the atmosphere was competitive and fun. Teams came ready to play, sporting different jerseys and bringing serious court energy.

I was given a playlist direction focused on '80s music with a Latin twist, so I made sure to mix in classics that kept everyone moving. Since I was spinning for a full six hours, I expanded the set to include 2000s hits, 2010s party jams, and '90s hip hop to keep the vibe fresh and the energy high.

One of my favorite moments was building a basketball-themed DJ set—starting with “Basketball” by Kurtis Blow, jumping into Kriss Kross’ “Jump”, and then hitting hard with “Jump Around” by House of Pain. The crowd loved it, and the transitions kept the momentum strong.

Throughout the day, I kept the tracks short, mixing in a new song every minute or so to keep the party flowing. The event planner was thrilled, and the crowd's response was all the validation we needed.

The Tech Museum is an incredible venue for any corporate gathering. What makes it stand out is its interactive exhibits, which you can explore while enjoying the festivities. Located across from Christmas in the Park, it’s in the heart of the city, but the museum staff made parking stress-free—an essential perk during the holiday season.

This event was nothing short of spectacular. Since it was a large-scale party, we set up a 6-speaker system on the bottom floor. Impressively, guests on the 3rd level could still hear the speeches and music perfectly. One highlight of the evening was a heartfelt retirement speech followed by Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” – an energetic send-off for a well-deserved farewell.

We played a mix of everything: holiday classics, well-loved hits, and songs everyone could sing and dance to. Compared to last year’s flat, sprawling venue, this year’s dance floor was the perfect size. Guests were up and dancing by 8:30 PM, and the party didn’t slow down until the event wrapped at 11 PM.
